This year we are pleased to welcome our guest instructor, Suzuki Shihan from Tokyo Hombu Dojo, to join us at a new harbour side venue, Riverview College. Suzuki Sensei has previously visited Australia with Doshu, and last year a number of our NextGen/younger Aikidoka met and trained with him at Hombu. Suzuki Shihan will be instructing on the the last 3 days of the event.
Smibert, Botterill and Janiv Shihans will lead a special training focus on basic and advanced techniques from the teaching syllabus. They will
be supported by TTC members and other senior teachers.
The Instructors' Course is open to everyone 1st kyu and above who is or wishes to be an instructor. Shidoin and Fuku-Shidoin should be sure to attend the special Shidosha class on the mat, which is run especially for them.
We are also trying a new format for the timetable that doesn’t occupy two weekends in succession! Training will commence on Sunday 1 July through to Friday 6 July, see below for Registration details.
Training fee: The fee is based on your home state location, the further you have to travel interstate to reach the venue the lower your training fee.
Individual college rooms are provided, with shared facilities and a common room on each floor. Accommodation fees include three meals per day. There are no cooking facilities on site. Day attendees may book meals at the venue, family and friends are invited to the Thursday night party and to attend they need to book in advance by Tuesday 19 June 2018.
Cost: The room rate is $110 per night, including 3 meals a day. For the Thursday night the rate is $130 which includes a ticket to the party.
One and two bedroom rooms are available, other photos are kitchen and dining areas. Room requests will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The registration desk will be set up in Kevin Fagan House entry lobby (#19) on Saturday 30 June from 2–5 pm, all other days will be in the dojo (#5 Ramsay Hall). See the map below for locations. Please advise if you anticipate arriving early or late.

Public transport from the airport to Riverview involves a train (T8 airport link) to Wynyard Station and buses (292 & 254). The closest stop to the venue is Riverview Stop ID 2066168, Riverview St before Loyola Drive.
