Russell Cosby, San-Dan Fuku-Shidoin

Russell was born on the 25 December 1968 in Northampton England.

He moved to Australia with his family in 1975.

He began his Aikido studies in 1991 with John Rockstrom in Frankston (an outer Melbourne suburb) Victoria and was with John for 4 years before moving to the Gold Coast, Queensland in 1996, where he continues to study Aikido as a student of Graham Morris Sensei at West Burleigh.

Russell’s Saturday morning class focuses on basic training for beginning students, although students of all levels are welcome.

As with all instructors in Queensland, Russell also holds Coaching Accreditation from the Federal Government’s National Coaching Accreditation Scheme.

On leaving school he worked as qualified Landscape Gardener. He is also a qualified clockmaker and has been for 15 years and now runs a successful business as a Horologist.

In his spare time he likes to read and play with his 9 month old son.

Russell holds the rank of 3rd Dan Fukushidoin.
