Hanami Geiko is held on the last weekend in September every year

This special Tasmanian event provides the rare opportunity for trainees from all around Australia to experience focused small dojo training with some of the most senior aikidoka in the country - Tony Smibert Sensei and Bob Botterill Sensei, two of our precious Australian Shihan; plus amazing interstate guests John Rockstrom Sensei from Victoria and Andrew Dziedzic Sensei from NSW, plus our fantastic senior Tassie instructors, all in the beautiful Sugano Dojo in Deloraine!!!

Training will include a 4 day course, with Hanami Geiko opening on Thursday night, more training and social events on Friday, followed by a full weekend TTC training.

The weekend will culminate with the traditional Japanese celebration of ‘O-Hanami’
(Cherry Blossom viewing) - with sushi, sake, and relaxation under the massed planting of Japanese sakura trees along the river bank near the dojo.

Training Fees
$100.00 for the full 4 days, $60.00 for the weekend, or $30.00 per day
Concessional rates available
Regular dojo fees apply on Mon, Tue and Wed night if you wish to join our regular classes

Accommodation
Options include joining the Tassie crowd at Tenchi Farm in Meander, or local Deloraine motels, pubs or caravan parks – email aikido.tas@gmail.com for more info.

Beginner's Class to continue in Kingborough (ages 13+)

Wednesdays, 6.00 - 7.30pm at Tarremah Steiner School Hall, Huntingfield (just past Kingston) We will now be holding a regular weekly class at Tarremah School following on from our successful Introduction to Aikido course which wrapped up last week.
While these Wednesday classes will continue to be beginner orientated, all trainees of any level are welcome to attend and it is a great opportunity to get some extra training days :)

Children’s Class Open in Hobart (ages 6-12)

Wednesdays, 4.00 -5.00pm at the Hobart PCYC, Liverpool St We will now be holding a regular weekly children’s class at the Hobart PCYC following on from our successful Introduction to Aikido course which wrapped up last week.
