Aiki Kai Australia is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and Young People involved in Aikido. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, positive, and enjoyable environment where all Children and Young People feel safe, respected, valued, and empowered to realise their full potential.

Aiki Kai Australia has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of child abuse, harm, and/or neglect. All Children and Young People have the right to feel safe and protected from abuse, harm, and neglect, and to participate in Aikido in an environment that supports their safety, wellbeing, and development.

We are committed to advocating for the rights of Children and Young People and ensuring that everyone involved in Aikido is aware of their rights and responsibilities regarding child safety. This includes our dojos, administrators, instructors, parents, guardians, and participants. We are dedicated to educating our community and fostering a culture where child safety is a shared responsibility.

Aiki Kai Australia ’s policies and procedures address risks to child safety and are designed to establish and maintain a child-safe culture and practices in accordance with the National Safeguarding Standards for Children and Young People.

We will continue to integrate child safety into our organisational culture through participation, education, and proactive measures to protect Children and Young People from harm. We are committed to ensuring that all members feel safe and supported when raising concerns or reporting inappropriate behaviour, and that concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.

If you have reason to believe that a Child or Young Person is at immediate risk of harm, you must follow the procedures set out in Appendix 1: Responding to Abuse and Harm to Children and Young People and report the matter to the appropriate law enforcement and/or child protection agency.
